Last year I bought a beautiful tweed skirt with gold thread running though it -- stunning. But it had to be hand washed & hand blocked to dry flat, so back to the store it went. Sigh!
I do like the black and gold combo, but where would a gold Oxford ever be appropriate. Surely not at work, or have I crossed over to the fuddy-duddy side for good?
I am going to be in the minority here. If this is a must have, I will pass. I don't mind black and gold jewelry, though I don't care for the examples here but as for the rest - no - No - NO!
Oh, don't worry - in my world there are almost NO "must-have" items, colors, or anything else. So long as you're not getting arrested for indecent exposure, I'm not going to tell anybody what to wear. Mostly, I do these things to poke fun at the idea that we HAVE to buy FOUR new colors this season.
Wait 'til I get to the list of the "10 must-have items for fall"... I think at least 7 or 8 of them are insanely ill-advised!
stick to your preferences - I wouldn't have you any other way! Janice
Just as well I kept my Gold flats from a few seasons ago Just goes to show everything old is new again I love the jewellery very Egyptian and retro Pass on the skirt reminds me too much of the 70's and thats not a place I want to revisit ever
The beauty is, don't we all have our own choice of chunky gold jewelry somewhere. Many might already have a pair of gold flats (mine are moccasins) so the look is done without a major outlay. A gold chain belt would be great too if we don't want a whole skirt. I adore the skirt but not sure I would get a lot of use out of it. it is a great version but I suspect rather costly.
Janice, you have the Midas touch!
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt!
ReplyDeleteMine too! I'd love them in silver as well :)

ReplyDeleteThose gold oxfords are just cool.
ReplyDeleteLove that gold skirt!
ReplyDeleteThese really show the power of a core set of basics and I just adore those gold wingtip shoes!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing. It shows that just a small touch of drama can completely transform an outfit.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant, in every sense of the word. Coveting the gold skirt...fabulous!
